Hahahaha!! It is always good time with my family…. and guess what happened?
We all went to Manhattan Fish Market at the Spring for our dinner… and yes…. it was my idea of course!!!!!!

I read about bad review of Manhattan…..
Well, honestly speaking… the fish @ Manhattan wasn’t too bad!!! But i suppose they should be careful when they bake it… don’t burn it… DAMN… my grilled Salmon’s skin was BURNT…. BUMMER! The prawns weren’t fresh at all…. but the sauce was GREAT!

My sis ordered the same meal as I did… and they totally forgotten about her meal… My dad ordered a basket of garlic bread… and they too forgotten about it….
Thereafter, my sis ordered 15 minutes after my dad…. they’ve forgotten about her garlic bread too!

After waiting for about a good half an hour….. my sister’s food still has not arrived…. so we got hold of the manager and ask what’s going on? Well, honestly speaking… the manager was really nice… he apologized and said, my sister’s main meal will be for free, gave her a basket of fries while waiting for the order (cause they missed out silly princess’ meal! wuahahaha!)

And Then… the best part was… they gave us also a complimentary TIRAMISU!!!!!! wahahahaha!!!!!!

First came, the soup
Second came, the DESSERT!
Third came, Fried Mushroom
Forth, then our mains!
Anyway, the DESSERT IS REALLY REALLY NICE!!!!!!

I have tried the TIRAMISU!! And now the MUD PIE!
OH DARN… BOTH ARE NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
it’s not just nice… it’s something to SHOUT ABOUT!!!!

This is SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT! Seriously…… uhhh… Never order the Seafood Pasta…. rating: 0/10. The pasta was hard, the cream wasn’t nice….

I like the fresh herbs Grilled Fish…. ^ ^ Rating: 8/10

It will be good, if it’s less oily though… but the herbs smells GREAT!

Manhattan Fish Market has always pride in their Fresh Fish / Seafood and also service! I became a big fan of Manhattan Fish Market, when I first dined in MFM, Subang Parade about two years back with one of my friend in Penn Malaysia.

Since then onwards, everytime when I do visit KL, the very first thing after my friends fetched me from the airport the moment I touch down, is to have dinner at MFM. That’s for sure!

I only have one Favourite Dish, which is the Grilled Norwegian King Salmon with Garlic Rice.

Earlier on in 2008, Manhattan Fish Market finally open their outlets in Kuching. There are two outlets, one in the Spring and the other one is in Boulevard Mall.

Their Opening Hours are DAILY from 10.30am till 9pm (+ / – of half hour).

However, the service in Kuching is BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD! Extremely Bad! Everytime when I was there, either the waitress/waiters didn’t know their stuffs, or the food really suck! Especially the King Salmon!

Repetitively I told them that, the Salmon should be medium rare, but it is still COOKED to BURNT! at times, it’s so burnt that the flesh is so dry and hard. Imagine that. Does it spoil your mood? Yes! It does!

Overall Rating:

* Taste : 4/10 (for Kuching’s both outlets!)
* Sugar level : n/a
* Msg level : n/a
* Salt level : So far so good
* Food Presentation : It’s messy at times, but usually it’s ok
* Ambience : Simple & Cosy
* Cost/Price: It’s not cheap, but affordable
* Service : The waitresses and waiters are usually very blur. And they are EXTREMELY SLOW in food serving! They either have forgotten totally about your order, or they messed up!

The only time when I had better service was when it was newly opened. There were a couple of KL operation managers around or perhaps trainers. Well from the way they speak Mandarin & English, they sounded very “West Malaysian” with the cantonese slang….

The pictures you’re gonna see in awhile were all being replaced. It’s either the fish were burnt or they gave us the wrong order and they’d to replace a new one. Tiramisu was complimentary from the manager to us for making a few mistakes in a row.

The Flaming Prawns

I’m not sure what sauce it is on the top of the prawns.. they’d flame it just right in front of your eyes and it taste good!

Last but not least, the dessert. TiRAMISU! I should say the Tiramisu is good!

Very very good! It’s worth trying!

My 2 cents?

Well, I still think MFM in West Malaysia is the best! And there’s still lots of room for improvement for the two branches in Kuching. They should really catch up in customer service skills, know their product well, speak understandable English, keep track of customers’ order and tables ……
