Sodam Korean Restaurant, JB

Sodam Restaurant serves great Korean cuisine. I was there to try the BBQ meat. I’d the pork (Sogeum Gui – Pork shoulder loin) & beef (Kkoch Geungsim – Beef rib eye) and as usual, there’s always side dishes – kimchi that comes along with any Korean cuisine. I ordered the Sundubu Jjigae, which is Soft bean curd with seafood pot soup & rice.

This is the place

Nice & Cosy Ambience

Sogeum Gui – Pork shoulder loin

Kkoch Geungsim – Beef rib eye

Kimchi

I’m usually not a big fan of Kimchi except for the seaweed. So I’ve not much comment for it. The potato one actually taste nice here. Maybe it’s fermented, that’s probably why I didn’t like it? errr….. I don’t know really. I just didn’t like the strong sharp taste. Well there are a few types of side dishes (banchan). I’d say 80% of the time, I won’t even touch it.

Sundubu Jjigae – Soft bean curd with seafood pot soup & rice

Not sure why I like the spicy Korean soup that much. I used to like one of the seafood spicy soup from a Korean Restaurant in Wellington too! I guess the spicyness and taste is just different to other cuisine perhaps!

I’d great experience, I’m not sure about you. But I would say it’s worth trying!
